Bermuda is just a short hop away from the Northeast United States, a mere two hours flying time away. There is direct flight service to/from Bermuda destinations in England, Canada and the United States, with airports serving the island include Air Canada, American Airlines, British Airways, United Airlines, Delta Airlines, JetBlue, AirTran, WestJet and US Airways.
You Need A Passport to travel to Bermuda. Bermuda is a foreign country and you must have a current passport to travel. US citizens can learn more about obtaining a passport here; How to Apply for a US Passport
This requirement of separate Bermuda entry visa has been now abolished for all countries, for both cruise as well as air travelers to Bermuda. But there are other requirements to be met depending on your nationality.
Nationals of countries other than USA, UK and Canada will require a multiple entry transit visa for USA, UK or Canada (as applicable depending on one's route). This is because such nationals will need to transit and return through US, UK or Canada. This visa is known as Multi Re-Entry Visa (MRV) which ensures that a visitor is able to leave Bermuda, and return to his/her own country via US, UK or Canada (as the case may be).
NOTE: A multiple entry US, UK or Canada visa (with valid passport) is enough for tourists to enter Bermuda.
Bermuda has an excellent public transportation system--buses and ferries. The system is relatively convenient, reliable, well maintained, clean, usually air conditioned and relatively inexpensive (with the purchase of a one-day or multi-day TRANSPORTATION PASS sold at Registration). The buses and/or ferries will take visitors to--or near to--almost anywhere visitors may want to go in Bermuda. There are 1day, 2day, 3day, 4day and even weekly passes. The hotels will also exchange dollar bills for cash in Bermuda currency should you need some to take a bus or ferry.
